DESCRIPTION:DESCRIPTIONPROGRAMMELOGISTICAL NOTESREGISTRATIONSPEAKERSDESCRIPTION\nAre you interested in becoming an arbitrator?\nJoin the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy in Western Europe! \nThe ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy is a comprehensive and practice-oriented professional training programme tailored for experienced arbitration practitioners who are interested in pursuing a career as an arbitrator. \nDeveloped by the ICC Institute of World Business Law and organised under the auspices of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce\, the programme aims to provide participants with a strong command of the arbitration procedures and prepare them to act as arbitrators in international arbitration cases\, with a particular focus on ICC Rules of Arbitration. \nFor the 2025-2026 ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy in Western Europe\, around 40 selected candidates will undertake exercises\, submit assignments\, and participate in eight workshops organised in Brussels\, Madrid\, Paris\, London\, and Milan under the guidance of the Co-Chairs. Each workshop will also feature prominent arbitrators\, arbitration experts and representatives of the Secretariat of ICC International Court of Arbitration. This is a truly unique opportunity to learn and exchange with leading professionals in the field. \nTo learn more about the programme\, download the brochure. \nWho should attend? \nThis advanced level professional training is designed primarily for senior and upper mid-level arbitration practitioners interested in pursuing a career as an arbitrator. Participants must have an advanced knowledge of the English language and sufficient experience in international arbitration. \nPROGRAMME\nTentative workshop dates and locations: \n\nWorkshop 1-2 | 9-10 December 2025 | Brussels\, Belgium\nWorkshop 3 | February 2026 | Madrid\, Spain\nWorkshop 4 | March/April 2026 | Paris\, France\nWorkshop 5-6 | June 2026 | London\, United Kingdom\nWorkshop 7-8 | October 2026 | Milan\, Italy\n\nThe precise venues will be indicated as the programme goes along. Each workshop will generally last from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm\, with breaks for coffee and lunch. \nIn workshops\, the participants will: \n\nDiscuss the assignments they completed and documents they drafted before the\nworkshops;\nAnalyse practical situations based on ICC cases;\nEngage in simulations\, such as mock hearings on the procedure and merits;\nDiscuss with Co-Chairs and speakers the different practical situations\, legal and\npractical questions.\n\nParticipation in the workshops is essential. \nLOGISTICAL NOTES\nWorking language \nEnglish \nVenue \nDetailed information about the dates and venues of each workshop will be given to selected participants after admission. \nTravel information \nOn registering for this programme\, participants commit to attending all eight workshops and should consider the costs associated with travelling to all mentioned cities. Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and hotel reservations. No sponsorship from the ICC is available in this regard. \nCancellation policy \nParticipants are eligible for a refund of their registration fee if a cancellation request is submitted in writing before 29 August 2025. However\, this will incur a cancellation fee which must be covered by the participant. Any cancellation after the mentioned date is not refundable. \nPlease note that ICC reserves the right to cancel this event or to make minor alterations to the content and timing of the programme or to the identity of the speakers. In the unlikely event of cancellation\, delegates will be offered a full refund. In your cover letter\, please describe your motivation for joining the programme and your aspirations to become an arbitrator. We recommend limiting your response to under 1000 words. \nSelection criteria \n\nWhile we prioritise applicants residing and/or practising in Northern\, Southern\, and Western Europe\, we also welcome applicants from outside the region;\nMinimum experience of five years of professional experience in arbitration\, with a preference for applicants with more than 10 years of experience;\nAdvanced level in the English language is required as all instructions\, assignments\, and workshops will be conducted in English;\nContributions to the development of arbitration in the region are desired; and\nStrong motivation and commitment for the program.\n\nRegistration fee\n€ 4\,500* (*20% VAT will be applied)\nOnly selected applicants will be asked to pay the registration fee. \nExclusive member benefits: \nICC Belgium Members may benefit from a 10% discount.
