Knowledge Advisory Board at ICC Belgium

In January 2022, ICC Belgium established the Knowledge Advisory Board, a specialized structure designed to bring together the collective expertise of our members and provide guidance on critical issues that transcend traditional boundaries. The primary goal of this board is to leverage the diverse knowledge of our members, foster collaborative solutions, and facilitate a holistic approach to today’s challenges.

Why the Knowledge Advisory Board?

The Knowledge Advisory Board is an innovative step toward strengthening collaboration within ICC Belgium. It offers several unique advantages:

  • Leveraging Members’ Knowledge

The board brings together experts from areas such as arbitration, banking, commercial law, IP & IT, marketing, advertising, customs and trade facilitation, and trade and investment. Through collective insight and shared best practices, members deepen the pool of expertise available to the organization, leading to more informed and practical decision-making.

  • Breaking Down Silos and Connecting Dots

By working in this collaborative structure, we transcend traditional silos and create an environment where ideas flow freely across different domains. This enables us to tackle transversal topics effectively, fostering interdisciplinary solutions and bridging gaps that might otherwise limit progress.

How It Works

  • Structure and meetings
The Knowledge Advisory Board meets at least twice a year and is presided over by the ICC Belgium President. These meetings allow members to discuss pressing issues, offer guidance on new initiatives, and identify emerging trends that may impact our organization and its members. This structure ensures continuity, coherence, and a united approach to the complex and interconnected issues of today’s business landscape.
  • Role of Committee Presidents
Each specialized committee within ICC Belgium has a president who represents their field in global commission meetings and reports directly to the ICC Belgium President and Secretary General. The committee presidents also play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities for initiatives such as webinars, colloquia, publications, media campaigns, and lobbying efforts.

A structure for the Future

The Knowledge Advisory Board represents our commitment to fostering a knowledge-driven, collaborative community. By connecting experts across industries, we are better equipped to address the evolving challenges facing businesses in Belgium and beyond.
