Vincent Reuter, well known in the business world in Belgium as Managing Director of the Walloon Union of Enterprises (UWE) between 2002 and 2017 and as Chair of the Board of Credendo, the official Belgian export credit agency, between 2010 and 2017, takes the reins of ICC Belgium, the Belgian chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

ICC is the world business organization, a private entity representing companies worldwide since 1919, with inter-governmental organizations such as the United Nations and the World Trade Organization (WTO) as key interlocutors. It is present locally in a hundred countries, and Belgium participated with only four other countries – France, Great Britain, Italy and the United States, to its creation directly after the first world war.

Interests of the private sector have always guided my career. This new challenge is perfectly coherent with my professional path, and I am delighted by the trust that ICC Belgium’s member companies give me in representing our companies at the highest levels of the economic and financial globalization,” said Vincent Reuter at the end of the general assembly.

ICC is recognized worldwide for its international commercial arbitration activities, its rules for trade such as the Incoterms® rules and banking rules as well as for the promotion of multilateral trade agreements.

Vincent Reuter succeeds Bruno van Lierde, former Senior Partner & Managing Director of the Boston Consulting Group. The list of honorary presidents of ICC Belgium includes Rudi Thomaes, Paul Buysse and the first president, Léon Janssen in 1920.
